What is trachial tug?

Tracheal tug is a medical condition in which the trachea (windpipe) is pulled downwards with each breath due to increased negative pressure in the chest cavity. This can occur as a result of a variety of underlying conditions, such as obstructive lung diseases, respiratory distress syndrome, or heart failure. Tracheal tug may be accompanied by other symptoms, such as shortness of breath, wheezing, coughing, and chest pain. Diagnosis is usually made through a physical exam by a medical professional, and treatment typically involves addressing the underlying condition causing the tracheal tug.
